1. Surgical Hands-On (The “Eat, Sleep, Cataract” Model)
Intensity: This institute is tailor-made for surgeons who want to “eat, sleep, and breathe cataract surgery.” The primary focus is sheer volume and repetitive hands-on practice to build muscle memory.
Surgical Path: It provides an excellent, rapid curve for both Small Incision Cataract Surgery (SICS) and Phacoemulsification. The structure is designed to convert surgical novices into fast, independent operators.
2. Limitations & Trade-offs
Academics: Minimal. Do not expect structured case presentations, daily seminars, or deep theoretical discussions. The training is highly practical and OT-centric.
Refractive Exposure: Poor. Training on premium refractive procedures, premium IOLs (Toric/Multifocal), or laser platforms (LASIK/SMILE) is absent or very limited.

Drishti Netralaya is a “Surgical Bootcamp.” If you are an MS or DNB graduate who feels completely unprepared to operate independently in the real world, this place will erase that fear through sheer volume. However, if you are looking for an academic pedigree, publication opportunities, or advanced refractive fellowships, you should look elsewhere. Think of this as a pure, transactional investment to get your surgical hands running.
